On Saturday, April 1, 2023, the Siena Student Nursing Association (SSNA) will host their second-annual “Run for a Veteran” 5K on the Siena Heights University Campus.
SSNA has partnered with the Lenawee County Veteran’s Coalition for this event, having wanted to choose a local organization to sponsor and raise awareness for. A large portion of the proceeds made through the 5K will be donated the Lenawee County Veteran’s Coalition. The coalition and another veteran’s organization will speak prior to the beginning of the race.
In addition, SSNA has reached out to local businesses for support and donations. If over $100 is made in donations by a respective business, the business’ name will be printed on the back of the SSNA’s 5K tee-shirts. Any business is welcome to set up a booth for the race.
Of the event, Sara Tartarian, president of SSNA, says: “The students of the Siena Heights Student Nurses Association are grateful for the donors and participants of the annual 5k who help raise awareness and funds for the Lenawee County Veterans Coalition.”
The race is set to begin at 9:00 a.m., and the course begins and ends at the Erickson Enrollment Building on the Siena Heights University campus. There is a $15 dollar registration fee for students, $20 for non-students, and any veteran can participate free of charge. Please register here.
For more information, or if you wish to donate, please email Sara Tartarian.
