University of Detroit Mercy agrees to:

  1. All credits of all currently enrolled Siena Heights University students will be accepted toward an equal or comparable degree for the programs listed on Schedule A (the “Programs”) at University of Detroit Mercy for purposes of this Teach-Out Agreement. University of Detroit Mercy will accept 100% of all credits granted or accepted as transfer by Siena Heights University and guarantee admission to University of Detroit Mercy, provided that the qualifying students are in good standing at Siena Heights University, and meet the admissions standards of the specific program to which they seek entry.
  2. University of Detroit Mercy will waive admissions, application, and residency requirements for qualifying Siena Heights University students and will offer tuition and fees that are equal to or less than the posted tuition and fees at Siena Heights University. University of Detroit Mercy will individually meet with each student to assemble a clear and transparent financial aid package.
  3. University of Detroit Mercy will honor all bona fide financial aid offers, scholarships, or other financial aid packages previously awarded or promised by Siena Heights University and such information shall be provided to University of Detroit Mercy by Siena Heights University as soon as reasonably practical following the execution of this Agreement.
  4. Whenever possible, University of Detroit Mercy will match the percentage of aid awarded at Siena Heights University, proportional to University of Detroit Mercy awards for the same or similar activities or accomplishments.
  5. Siena Heights University students who transfer to University of Detroit Mercy will be treated in an equitable manner and will be provided with academic, administrative, and student support services and assistance to ease their transition from Siena Heights University to University of Detroit Mercy. Siena Heights University students who transfer to University of Detroit Mercy will have full access to all University of Detroit Mercy facilities and will otherwise have the full rights and privileges of all University of Detroit Mercy students.
  6. University of Detroit Mercy will match Siena Heights University courses to University of Detroit Mercy requirements whenever possible, providing reasonable flexibility to support student progress toward a degree and keep them on track for graduation in the same timeframe as would have been the case if they had remained at Siena Heights University.
  7. Siena Heights University teach-out students will be eligible for available on-campus housing through University of Detroit Mercy at the published UDM room and meal plan rates.
  8. University of Detroit Mercy is open to Siena Heights University students who participate in intercollegiate athletics program at the discretion of the coaches of each sport listed in Schedule B.
  9. University of Detroit Mercy will undertake its obligations described herein at no cost to Siena Heights University.
  10. University of Detroit Mercy will provide a webpage for Siena Heights University teach-out students that serves as a resource and guide for their academic transition

Siena Heights University agrees to:

  1. Provide the University of Detroit Mercy with a list of potential transfer students as soon as practicable.
  2. Transmit to the University of Detroit Mercy all student educational records and all other related information necessary for University of Detroit Mercy to comply with its obligations under this Teach-Out Agreement, except for those students who have elected to enroll in an institution other than University of Detroit Mercy.
  3. Promptly provide University of Detroit Mercy with an official copy of the student’s transcript and complete copy of the student’s admissions, academic, conduct, and financial records for all current students electing to transfer to University of Detroit Mercy.
  4. All records to be provided by Siena Heights University to the University of Detroit Mercy shall be in digitized form which is readily searchable and cataloged by specific academic year or term. These records for transfer students shall be treated in a manner consistent with the University of Detroit Mercy’s policies for maintaining transfer student records.

Duration:

  1. The term of this MOU shall commence from the date of the last signature to this MOU allowing time for Siena Heights University students to apply to University of Detroit Mercy. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Teach Out Students must matriculate no later than the start of the fall semester 2026 and maintain continuous enrollment at University of Detroit Mercy in order to remain eligible for the benefits outlined in this MOU.
  2. After the start of the fall semester 2026, requests for admission of Siena Heights University students to UDM shall be subject to the then current UDM transfer requirements and financial aid benefits for new students transferring to UDM, and any admission decisions are at the sole discretion of UDM.
  3. This agreement will remain binding on University of Detroit Mercy until Siena Heights Teach Out Students complete their program of study or at the close of business of May 31, 2032, whichever occurs first. Thereafter, Siena Heights University students will need to abide by all policies, procedures, and requirements in place at the University of Detroit Mercy.
