Academic Theme for the 2025-2026 Academic Year: “What’s Your Story?”

Common Read for the Summer of 2025: “Hey, Kiddo” by Jarrett Krosoczka

The common read team has chosen a graphic novel for your summer read! It is a compelling story about growing up in a less than perfect way, as most of us have grown up. “Hey, Kiddo” is full of characters that might seem to be right out of your own life. You may even identify with a couple of them! We suggest jotting notes in a small notebook or on sticky notes as you read so that you can more easily complete your first SHU assignment, which is linked here. Your submission is due at the Book Discussion Dinner to be held the Friday of New Student Orientation, August 22.
