In what was a hard fought, physical game, the Saints got on the board early when Susie Palushaj scored only 3:48 into the game.  Gemma Copwerthwaite and Allison Septer had the assists on the goal.  The game remained 1-0 into the halftime break.  In the first half, the Saints outshot the Crusaders by a margin of 4-2.

In the second half, with the wind in their face, the Saints battled throughout with Haley Mancini coming up huge with two point blank saves, one a diving save allowing no rebound Palushaj WHAC Semis.jpgto keep the one goal lead.  With just over eight minutes left to play, Palushaj took advantage of a ball that was mishandled by the Crusaders goalkeeper.  When the keeper came out and misplayed the ball on the ground, it squirted past the keeper where Palushaj was in the right spot to put the ball in the wide open net and secure the Saints victory.

With the win, the Saints move to 14-2-3 on the season.  They will host Aquinas for the WHAC Championship on Saturday November 14th at 1:00 pm.  Admission to the Championship game will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.  All SHU students and employees will be admitted for free with their SHU ID.
