The Siena Heights Women's Volleyball Team ended their 2009 season on a downward note with a loss to Spring Arbor.
The Saints fell in three sets to the Cougars by scores of 25-20, 28-26, and 25-15.
With the loss, the Saints record ends at 8-24. The Saints will say goodbye to five seniors, Sara Ullenbruch, Melissa Hall, Mariah Welke, Jessica Brown, and Hillary Day. All three seniors who played four years, Hall, Welke, and Brown have left their mark in the SHU record books.
Hall finishes her career in 2nd for aces and digs, and is the Saints leading assists record holder with almost 600 more assists than the next closest player. Welke finishes her career third in solo blocks, first in assisted blocks and second in total blocks. If not for a season ending injury, Welke would have surpassed the total blocks leader, as she ends her career only two short of the record. Brown finishes her career strong in the blocking category, as she is 2nd in both solo and assisted blocks, and third in total blocks.
