ITALY 2006: VENICE at SPRING BREAK
This tour was conducted and led by Professors Michael Farrell and Christine Reising. Prof. Reising, MFA University of Windsor, is Art Program Chairperson and Professor of Art in Printmaking and Drawing at Siena Heights University. She taught the studio portion of the program and was the liaison for Siena Heights. Professor Michael Farrell, with graduate and undergraduate degrees from Florida State University, is an Associate Professor of Art History and founder of the Honors Art History Program at the University of Windsor. Professor Farrell has conducted study tours for credit for both the University of Windsor and Central Michigan University since 1971. TRIP INFORMATION
Anyone may participate in the tour without being registered in a class or attending Siena Heights University.
What the tour INCLUDED:
- 8 nights in a five-star, centrally located hotel near St. Mark's.
- Welcome drinks, large breakfast each day, and farewell dinner.
- Bus trip to Padua to see the Arena Chapel frescoes of Giotto and a visit to Ravenna to see San Vitale and San Apollinaire in Classe.
- Visits in Venice: Accademia, San Zaccharia, Frari, Scuolo de San Rocco, Sta. Maria in Orto, San Paolo and San Giovanni, Islands of Murano and Torcello, Sta. Maria del Salute and much more.
- Entrance fees.
- Transfers to and from the airport in Venice.
What the tour DID NOT INCLUDE:
- AIR FARE HAS NOT BEEN INCLUDED!
- Waterbus fees have NOT been included.
- Meals have NOT been included, except for breakfast daily and a farewell dinner.
- Tuition
DEPOSIT: $500 (US) (refundable up to Dec. 1) due no later than October 1, 2005 in order to secure the hotel. Final payment due December 15, 2006. Please make checks out to Art House
The cost of the tour is based upon the current exchange rate of the U.S. dollar and the Euro.
