The Sculpture and Metalsmithing programs at Siena Heights University have evolved together over the past twenty-five years. Both programs are currently based on an integration model that allows them to interact easily. In the spirit of contemporary sculpture, a curriculum has been developed that includes all forms of sculpting as avenues for investigation. Students are presented with an environment that emphasizes traditional techniques as well as current innovation. Particular attention is paid to the exploration and understanding of technique, materials and their integration into personal vision.

The Sculpture program has evolved beyond its traditional sculpting boundaries to include interdisciplinary lines of investigation. These have included painted sculpture, furniture and musical instrument design, and countless other abstract, representational and functional approaches to contemporary sculpture. Students are encouraged to pursue their creative visions regardless of their traditional or non-traditional nature.
