SUMMARY: Siena Heights University, a Catholic liberal arts university located in Adrian, Michigan, invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Communication to begin August 2014.
Qualified applications should have a specialization in media studies and at least one year of teaching experience. Candidates must be able to teach a diverse array of classes including introduction to communication studies, introduction to journalism, and history of mass media, as well as being willing to teach in the university’s liberal arts core curriculum. A willingness to advise the student news organization, consisting of an online news magazine and once a semester print magazine is also desirable. The department is seeking an individual to join us who has the disposition of a generalist and a collegial spirit. The department currently offers concentrations in business communications, religious communications, professional writing and digital communication.
The successful candidate will have a terminal degree in communication studies or a related field. ABD applicants with a defense date prior to August 2014 will be considered.
