Want to know what Barbie bungee jumping has to do with mathematics? Find out this answer and more at the 15th annual Michigan Undergraduate Mathematics Conference Feb. 23 at Siena Heights University.
Open to college and university students and faculty members as well as high school students and mathematics teachers, this year’s conference will feature a variety of presentations by students and graduate program representatives. This year’s conference will be located in Dominican Hall on SHU’s Adrian campus.
The year 2013 is the International Year of Statistics. This year’s keynote speaker is Bowling Green State University Professor Jim Albert, whose research interests include Bayesian statistics and the analysis of sports data.
Student presentations are encouraged, and the 15-minute talks may focus on original research or expository on material that most students do not encounter in the undergraduate curriculum.
