
The Music Department at Siena Heights University will conduct Audition Days for the 2013-14 academic year.
High school seniors and transfer students who would like to major in music or perform in the band, orchestra or choir can schedule a music audition during their campus visit. Students can meet with and audition for members of the SHU Music Department on the following dates:

PROSPECTIVE MUSIC MAJOR AUDITION
Your audition/interview should include some or all of the following:
• A high level of preparation
• Resume (list of your musical experience)
• High GPA and ACT scores (recommended)
In addition to the above qualifications, please prepare the following:
• Solo performance of 2 contrasting pieces (preferably from different time periods). Vocalists should perform one piece in a foreign language (if possible)
• Scales proficiency
• Sight reading
• Students will also take a theory placement exam
CHOIR SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION
Vocalists: Your audition/interview will include the following:
• Perform solo of your choice
• Check of sight reading ability
• Check of musical memory
• Check of range and tone quality
BAND SCHOLARSHIP AUDITION
Instrumentalists: Your audition/interview will include the following:
• Perform solo of your choice
• Check of scales proficiency
• Check of sight reading ability
• Check of range and tone quality
