Siena Heights University and Henry Ford College have partnered to establish a new University Center on HFC’s main campus in Dearborn, Mich. This Center officially opened on May 13, 2014.
This partnership is the first of its kind for HFC, and SHU's first new location since 2004. The new University Center is currently located on the first floor in the HFC Welcome Center.
“Our collaboration with Siena Heights University on this new University Center will serve as a model for future endeavors like this, and provides a strong foundation for increased student success,” said HFC President Stan Jensen. “Providing students the opportunity to complete their first years of college at HFC and save money, then work toward their bachelor’s degree on campus at a high-quality four-year institution like Siena Heights gives them the best of both worlds. They save money, work toward their degree and remain close to home. We’re confident this model will be attractive to all students.”
Some of the important benefits of HFC’s partnership with SHU include the following:
- SHU undergraduate and graduate classes offered at HFC;
- Availability of evening, weekend and hybrid classes;
- Personalized advising; and
- Transfer-friendly policies.
“Siena Heights University is pleased to expand its presence in metro Detroit with its partnership with HFC,” said SHU President Sister Peg Albert, OP, PhD. “By allowing Siena Heights to offer bachelor’s and master’s degree programs on its campus, HFC is providing even more opportunities for students to continue their education on the Dearborn campus."
SHU will initially offer a number of programs at HFC, including:
