Kasha Lowe
Occupation: Police Officer, Lansing Police Department
Major: Multidisciplinary Studies
Why did you choose Siena Heights University?
After graduating with my associate's degree from LCC, I joined the Mid-Michigan Police Academy and then began working for the Lansing Police Department. I swore an oath to serve and protect the people of my community, became very passionate about my line of work and constantly wanted to help people. In dealing with the community, I realized the impact higher education can have, not only on what type of career you choose, but also in what type of lifestyle you live. I knew that in order for me to succeed in my role as an officer, I must further my education so that I can educate the people I meet on the streets everyday and encourage them to make better life choices."
What are your future goals?
"After 5 years of hard work and with the support of my family, friends, and co-workers, I succeeded in obtaining my bachelor of arts degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. In the future I plan to obtain a master's degree, and hope that by helping others understand the importance of higher education, I will impact their lives the way education has impacted mine."
