The Siena Heights University men's soccer team improved to 2-0 Aug. 26 with a 2-1 victory at St. Francis, Ind. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Adrian, but was moved to Fort Wayne, Ind., because heavy rains led to unplayable field conditions at SHU.
With the match scoreless at halftime, the Saints got two goals in the second half and held on for the win.
Ryan Hansinger scored an unassisted goal in the 64th minute and Blake Fowler added the insurance goal eight minutes later.
St. Francis' only goal came on a penalty kick goal with less than a minute left to play. The Saints outshot the Cougars 17-9 and had a 5-3 edge in corner kicks.
Andrew Klenner earned the win in goal for Siena Heights, which is scheduled to play Friday in the opening round of the Walsh (Ohio) College Invitational.
