Meet Jasmine Caldwell

Criminal Justice Major

Sylvania, Ohio

Jasmine Caldwell is a first-generation college student. She is majoring in criminal justice with a minor in Spanish.  Caldwell graduated in 2010 from Sylvania Southview High School in Sylvania, Ohio.

A former track coach brought Siena Heights to Caldwell’s attention. She was later recruited to run track for SHU. Caldwell was attracted by the small class sizes for more individualized attention. She was also excited that the track team was getting a track facility.

While at SHU, Caldwell runs for the cross country and track teams, was treasurer of the Greek Council, is a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority, helped as a Student Support Services mentor and worked for the Department of Public Safety.

Caldwell would like to work for the CIA or the Secret Service after graduation.

“I want to follow my godfather’s footsteps and work somewhere in the law enforcement field,” Caldwell said.

Caldwell said her involvement in campus life is what make Siena Heights special.

“Life is what you make it. So is SHU! Getting involved makes it much more fun,” said Caldwell.
