A 600 hour internship in a community setting under the supervision of a credentialed mental health clinician

Requirements for Michigan Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
48 semester hour master’s degree in counseling
3000 hours of post master’s degree supervised counseling practice
Passing score on the National Counseling Exam (NCE)
Master of Arts in School Counseling
Approved by the Michigan Department of Education for grades K-12
2 tracks (NT endorsement and School Counseling License-SCL)
48 semester hours (NT endorsement track for Michigan certified teachers)
57 semester hours (SCL track for non-certified individuals)

Prerequisite: Master’s degree in community or rehabilitation counseling
15 semester hour program
Additional credit hours may be required to fulfill Michigan Revised School Code requirements
