'The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee' March 25-27

Musical Closes Theatre Siena Season

Theatre Siena at Siena Heights University presents “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” March 25-27 in Francoeur Theater.

Directed by SHU Professor of Theatre Doug Miller, the musical for adult audiences is based on the book by Rachel Sheinkin. Six young people in the throes of puberty, overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape themselves, learn that winning isn’t everything and that losing doesn’t necessarily make you a loser. “Spelling Bee’s” Tony Award winning creative team has created the unlikeliest of hit musicals about the unlikeliest of heroes: a quirky-yet-charming cast of outsiders for whom a spelling bee is the one place where they can stand out and fit in at the same time.

Curtain times are at 8 p.m. each evening. Tickets are $12 for general admission, $8 for students.
