SHU's International Students Interact with Fourth-Graders from Michener Elementary School
Students in Linda Easley's anthropology classes at Siena Heights University have spent most of the semester working with and learning from fourth-graders at Adrian's Michener Elementary School. On Oct. 23, it was the fourth-graders' turn to learn about college life as part of a community-based learning program.
Thirty-seven fourth-graders journeyed to campus under the watchful eye of Easley and her 19 students. Part of the campus tour was visiting Sage Union, where SHU's Office of International Student Services is located. Siena's international student population presented a short program to teach the fourth-graders a little about their native countries. Interactive games and activities were also part of the fun, as the visit ended with a distribution of Halloween baskets and cookies.
