World Premiere of "Flip-Flop Folktales" Feb. 1-3

Creative Stages Child Drama Program Takes Center Stage at Francoeur Theatre

The world premiere production of Flip-Flop Folktales is scheduled from Feb. 1-3 in Francoeur Theatre on the campus of Siena Heights University.

Flip-Flop Folktales will feature approximately 75 young people in grades 1-12 who are part of SHU’s nationally recognized Creative Stages child drama program. Written by SHU Associate Professor of Theatre and Speech Communication and  Creative Stages Director Kerry Graves, Flip-Flop Folktales explores choices, how and why people make them, and how to combat those “voices in your head” that can steer people in the wrong direction. Taking a comic look at Cinderella and The Frog Prince, three high school students learn important lessons while experiencing a “magical” library and its many strange characters.

Flip-Flop Folktales is entertaining for the entire family, young and old alike. Curtain times are at 7 p.m. Feb. 1 and Feb. 2 and at 2 p.m. Feb. 3. Tickets are $7 general admission and $5 for students, seniors and Siena Heights community members.
