10/5/2009-Sawyer and others honored by WHAC

The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference has announced its postseason honors for the sport of Women’s Golf.  Headlining those honors for Siena Heights was Kelly Sawyer.  Sawyer, from Munith, Michigan, was named as 1st team All-WHAC selection.  In the four conference events she tied for 3rd, tied for 4th, tied for 5th, and finished 5th.  In her seven rounds this season she averaged a score of 85.3.  That is the lowest average on the Saints team by almost eight strokes.

Other Saints picked up honors from the conference also.  Senior Kaendall McVicker was named to the All-WHAC Academic team.  McVicker is from Temperance, MI and is majoring in Education.  Kristin Howard was named as the Saints Champions of Character player.  Howard, a freshman from Adrian, MI, best displayed the five core character values that Siena Heights, the WHAC, and the NAIA embraces.  Those values are respect, integrity, responsibility, servant leadership, and sportsmanship.
