Special interests:
Outside philosophy and cognitive science, I'm interested in 20th century American and European music, especially rap and post-punk; I really (really) enjoy contemporary American fiction (esp. David Foster Wallace, Don DeLillo, and Thomas Pynchon); and I spend a lot of time playing soccer and jumping rope. I delight in kids and animals; I'd like to learn ballet.
Teaching philosophy:
"Teaching philosophy is, first of all, getting students to care about thinking well. After that, they teach themselves."
