“The university classroom, especially the mathematics classroom, should be an interactive place. An atmosphere of intimacy among the students and professor is key to promoting learning among diverse students. Whether in an upper-level course for majors or a course for liberal arts requirements, everyone in the room should be engaged at a level required to optimize the time spent in the class. Frequent use of available technology will assist attainment of this goal whenever possible. My goal is to have students leave my class knowing more not just about the subject at hand, but also about the beauty of mathematics and how much fun learning can be.”
