SHU Youth Symphony Concert

The SHU Youth Symphony Orchestra will present a concert at 7 p.m. April 17 in Francoeur Theater. Under the direction of conductor Linda Deatrick, the orchestra will perform Modeste Mussorgsky's “Pictures at an Exhibition,” Wagner's “Entry of the Masters,” the “Anvil Chorus from Il Trovatore” by Verdi, featuring the SHU gypsy chorus and Dominican anvilists and Jerry Brubaker's “What's Up at the Symphony.” Soloist for the evening will be Caroline Binns on French horn. She is a senior from Blissfield High School, and will perform “Laudatio” by Bernard Krol. The youth symphony is composed of students from area high schools, middle schools and colleges, along with several adult community members.
