Finding and Applying for Private Scholarships

A quick way to start a scholarship search is to use specialized scholarship search sites on the web. If you need advice on winning a scholarship, the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) offers eight simple steps to assist you.

New Educational Opportunities For Unemployed Workers

Dept. of Labor

Americans with more education and training have more secure jobs and higher earnings. To help unemployed workers and our country move forward, the President announced steps to end the rules that discourage displaced workers from getting the education and training they need to find and fill the jobs of the future.

In addition to the federal financial aid offered by the U.S. Department of Education, there may be opportunities for either unemployed or low-wage job workers from the State of Michigan.

Help To Student Veterans

  Many veterans and active duty personnel can qualify for an education benefit program offered by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Please review our veteran's affairs page for more detailed information.

AmeriCorps

  This national service program provides education awards in exchange for a year or two of community services. Contact AmeriCorps at www.americorps.org or 1-800-942-2677.

Siena Heights University Recognition Grants

Recognition grants are for students new to the University who enroll full time (12 or more semester hours) on the Adrian campus. These scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided students maintain satisfactory academic progress and a minimum cumulative Siena GPA of 2.5 or higher.
