Competitive Scholarships

Siena Heights University offers a diverse selection of competitive scholarships based on high achievement in academics, the arts, athletics and other extracurricular activities. Scholarships are for students who are are new to the University in fall 2013 and enroll full-time (12 credit hours or more) in undergraduate courses on the Adrian campus. Prestige Full Tuition Scholarship

Siena Heights University's most selective scholarship, the Prestige Full Tuition Scholarship offers up to three awards to high school seniors who display academic excellence. The Prestige Scholarship covers the cost of full-time tuition, with the recipients responsible for all fees, and room and board costs. To be eligible, applicants must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8 or higher and a minimum ACT composite of 27 or higher (SAT verbal plus math of 1210 or higher). Application deadline was Jan. 15, 2013. Students offered this scholarship are not eligible for any other SHU scholarship.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes the outstanding members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at community colleges. To be eligible for the $1,000 per year award, applicants must possess a total cumulative college grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and be a member of the PTK Honor Society. Students must be admitted to SHU and enroll full-time (12 or more hours) on the Adrian campus as a new student for the fall 2013 semester. Deadline for applying was April 1, 2013.


Fine Arts & Performance Scholarships

Siena Heights offers scholarships in the following performing arts:

  • Art (including art history, art education, graphic design, studio art)
  • Theater (including musical theater)
  • Music (including marching band, orchestra, choir)

High school seniors and transfer students who would like to major in art, theater or music can schedule an audition or portfolio review during one of the scheduled review/audition days. Students can meet with and audition for members of the SHU art, theater and music faculty. Campus Ministry Scholars Program

The Campus Ministry Scholars Program offers scholarships for students seeking active involvement in the Campus Ministry Office on the Adrian campus. This scholarship is available to incoming freshmen and transfer students.

Athletic Scholarships

The Saints compete in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and offer athletic scholarships in 10 men’s and 10 women’s sports. Athletic scholarships are determined by the individual sports head coach and are communicated to the Office of Financial Aid. International Scholarships


International students can qualify for a merit based scholarship if they are accepted to the Adrian campus and are enrolled full time (12 semester hours or more).  Applicants must have their transcripts evaluated by an authorized credential evaluation service such as WES, AACRAO or ECE  and have an ACT or SAT score on file. Students having a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT composite score of 20 (minimum SAT verbal plus math of 940) may be eligible for merit based scholarships.
