Social Work

Do you enjoy working with people in need and are on a mission to find a college with professional faculty, small class sizes and practical hands-on learning? You’ll find all those things and more in Siena Heights University’s Social Work program.

The Capstone Experience – Senior Seminar is the Capstone course in which students make the transition to a professional identity. Senior students prepare and give professional presentations on social work and social welfare issues to their families, students, faculty, social workers, and other invited guests who join in a celebration of the students’ accomplishments. Each student completes a professional portfolio which contains examples of academic work, field practice documents, field supervisor’s evaluations, a professional mission statement, and a current resume. Senior portfolios document each student’s achievement of the program’s learning objectives.
