Intended for elementary-level educators with an interest in childhood literacy, this program leads to an M.A. (36 credits) and/or a K-12 Reading Specialist BR endorsement (21 credits) that can be added to an existing Michigan elementary teaching certificate with successful completion of the appropriate Michigan Test for Teacher Certification.

Prerequisites and required courses include an emphasis on developmental reading, remediation strategies, and content-area literacy. Teacher certification is required for admission to this program.
