Graduate Teacher Education
The Graduate Teacher Education (TED) program offers opportunities to satisfy various needs regarding teacher certification and professional development. Earn a master’s degree and/or additional teaching endorsement at the Adrian campus in any of these concentrations:
Master of Arts Degrees and Additional Endorsements
- Early Childhood Education (general) (ZS)
- Early Childhood Education (Montessori)
- Educational Leadership: Principal (AE)
- Elementary Education (ZG)
- Elementary Education with K-12 Reading (BR)
- Mathematics Education with Emphasis on Technology
- Middle School Education (ZL)
- Secondary Education (additional endorsements in biology, chemistry, history, English, math, or Spanish)
- Secondary Education with K-12 Reading (BR)
- Special Education (K-12 Learning Disabilities) (SM)
- Special Education (Cognitive Impairment) (SA)
- Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (NS)
The Graduate College also offers a Master of Arts degree in School/Community Counseling or Leadership, and a Specialist of Arts degree in Specialist: Educational Leadership for educators at the post-M.A. level.
SHU has received approval from the Michigan Department of Education to offer the remedial reading instruction course (TED635) now required of all Michigan educators to proceed from the provisional to the professional certification level. It is available in a fully-online format.
