Counselor Education

The Counselor Education program at Siena Heights University is designed for adults with both professional and life experiences who want to become counseling professionals in a community, human service, health care, educational or private practice setting. At Siena, our classes are taught by counseling professionals with educational and career credentials. We provide an experiential learning environment in small classes and spend class time on skill building and enhancing self-awareness and understanding.

Program Focus

  • Development of core competencies for effective counseling
  • Enhancement of understanding of the ethical practice of counseling
  • Support of self-awareness and personal development
  • Establishment of a foundation of counseling knowledge for future self-directed professional learning

The Graduate College also offers a Master of Arts degree in Graduate Teacher Education and Leadership.
