Responsible for recruitment and admission of students to Siena Heights University. Primary duties include planning and executing the implementation plan in meeting recruitment objectives. Work closely with prospective new students and families in support of their transition to post-secondary education.
Plans and implements activities and methods of distributing information about the University to prospective students and their families. May plan and make presentations to individuals or groups. Recruit prospective students through college fairs/programs, high schools, churches, and other professional contacts. Coordinate and schedule campus tours for prospective students and their families. Assist in planning and administrating special, on-campus admissions programs. Provide effective follow-up programs for prospective students including telephone calls and letters. Reading and evaluating applications and transcripts for admission and academic scholarships. Work collaboratively with other campus departments, staff and faculty in administering admissions and recruiting programs or projects. Provide prospective students/families academic and financial aid information. Uses marketing techniques to identify sources of potential students and evaluate their probability for educational success at the University. Maintains records of contacts and generates recruitment reports, statistics and strategies. Develop and write a territory recruiting plan and provide weekly, monthly and year-end reports on territory activity. Evaluate and make recommendations regarding admission policies. Assist in planning and implementation of recruitment/admission strategy. Develop and conduct market analysis to generate data that can be utilized in marketing initiative and recruitment of potential students. Other duties within scope of department's responsibilities as defined by supervisor.
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, education, or public relations, or relevant work experience in a related field. Strong management, marketing and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills, strong computer skills, and knowledge of trends in higher education. Ability to travel extensively to University fairs, schools, and private homes. Requires valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be persistent and positive when interacting with current and potential students, their families, Guidance Counselors, University staff and the public in general. Must be adept with telephone interviewing skills and techniques.
